I want to summarize what I found around the net in one topic: 1. Motorola A1600 OS: Linux Camera: 3.2 Mpix Memory: TransFlash Screen: 320x240 @ 264k Edge: Yes WiFi: No Battery: 720 mah 2. Motorola A1800 Same characteristics as A1600 but it looks like it has much better battery - 1000mah 3. Motorola ZINE ZN5 Look here: https://motohell.com/index.php?topic=2680.04. Motorola W161 We know the W series as the "Low-End" series. So this phone is - 128x128 monochrome display, no camera, no gprs, no extras, 850mah batter which should keep it alive a lot... Buy it to talk and SMS - nothing else 7. Motorola W181 Same concept and features as W161... However this one has a radio  8. Motorola W230 Now we have GPRS in the box, WAP 2.0, 65k color display and MP3 player with transflash card slot (+ the radio of W181). The battery is more powerful - 920mah. Rest is the same with the W's above 9. Motorola W270 Equal to W230 but different style 10. Motorola Z6w The first Motorola with WiFi (hoooray!). A1800 is dual GSM-CDMA phone... Since it was touchscreen and have same (or similar) UI with other EZX phone, it should be Linux... But what a surprise when i saw opensource.motorola.com, in some discussion, Motorola's people said it wasn't Linux...  Well, maybe im wrong though... |

well, some of the phone looks nice, but some......well, i think motorola likes to make us says "oh no, this phone is nice, but it lack of ....... (ROKR E2=surround sound, early V3= external memory, ROKR E8=3G/HSDPA, etc) why did they do that anyway?  PS: Another "lack of......" for every almost every motophone.....speed (thanks to that, now we can happily modding, here and there right?) |

The last post is true... The best example was the Siemens strategy at the past - they got A, C, M and S series and every bigger model includes everything from the smaller + some new extra. I really liked that variations. We have similar situations with the other companies (for example the Walkman series of SE)... With Motorola everything is chaos except the low-end W series where everything is in order...
Who can say if Z or A series are better? Or maybe the E series? There is no strict "upgrade" - these are competitors, not upgraders

Its all different type of phones (moto series)... Differend by design and hardware afcourse... Most important is that we have a big choice of new Moto's now
