Me and my girlfriend are using prepaid cards from two different operators - Globul (me) and Mtel (her).

Yesterday I bought two 10 lev (5 EURO) vouchers for both of us. During the day I got total of 5 (!) SMS'es trying to convince me to send an SMS for just 1.20 levs (60 euro cents) and I could win a Mercedes Benz A Class... I understand spamming me once, but five times? Additionally I got one saying that I get some bonus for being long time customer... that one was appreciated.

What made me really angry was during the night. Around 3 or 3:30 AM the phone of my girlfriend ringed (she has a short but loud SMS ringtone). Guess who was - the operator sending an SMS saying "The validity of your SIM card is extended with one year. The new validity is up to 17.10.2009". Thank you for the info - it's both useless and irritating. Who wants to read such important thing in 3AM in the morning?

Do you think it ended? No! Exactly at 4:28AM we got a second SMS from the same operator with the same info! I was right about getting asleep, when the operator sent the SAME SMS one more time... Yes we deleted the first one - how do they know? LOL

We too have many disturbing promo SMS from our operators.. And thanks to the strict rules from TRAI (Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India) we have a "Do not Disturb" option enabled recently.. Smiley

i mean it, even it's in the middle of the night....... thanks to my modified E2 gain and param table, i manage to wake almost everyone....... hate that kind of operator
