Getting additional text message when checking voicemail

Hello group,

I am new to the group, thanks for having me.

I recently changed service providers from Verizon to AT&T and have and L6i.  I am having an unusual problem that AT&T cannot solve, nor tell me why this is happening.

When I recieve a voicemail, when I check and listen to the voicemail, I am getting a text message while connected to the voicemail application.  This happens everytime, without fail.  The text message is a two symbol message--the first symbol is unrecognizable (it sort of looks like a wine bottle) and the second symbol is the @ symbol.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and suggest a fix or workaround?  I have had AT&T block all texting to the phone--but this does not work.  I also went into the inbox setup menu of the phone and deleted the AT&T service number from the inbox, still no joy.

Any help to cure this annoying problem would be very much appreciated.
