have some ways to use a SD 4Gb Card on E2.
1:spilt the card to 2 or 3 partions,ex:FAT16 2Gb,ext3 ~2gb and linuxswap...
2:split the card to only 2 partions:Fat16~4Gb (u must use Linux,ex Gnome Partions in Ubuntu...),and linuxswap...

gosh...
if you're gonna use swap/ext3 partitions, you must remember UNMOUNTING them when u're gonna plug the SD to your PC, or else you'll freeze your E2...

Ok...I'll say what for EXT3
That's the idea of whitemoto(creator of TheOne)
He wanted to port Gentoo Linux, but as you know, linux need a linux partition,so EXT3 fits great for it.
But now they(whitemoto and other) have another idea, now porting gentoo idea is frozen.

Why Gentoo?coz there was a project to port Gentoo on PDA(don't remember which exacly), started gentoo on this PDA.it's easier to port it on E2,coz this PDA have SAME cpu as E2.

More Info about porting Gentoo Linux on devices with cpu pxa27x

Hi all,

this just seems like a bit much for the casual user.
I would love to benefit from a swap file or a swap partition ...
I have a 4gb card, that I dont want to split into partitions for easy reading in windows.

Id just like to be able to turn on and off a swap file ... even better, if the firmware could
be smart enough to determine if there is room on my card when I insert it (or turn the phone on or off), and then just create a swap file of an arbitrary size automatically, that would be so cool.

Its too much to mount and unmount all the time.
THats my idea.

After reading this whole thread, i come with this conclusion:-
1. Doing Ext3 partition on our SD is pointless since it just for storage purpose only (not performance)
2. Swap File (12MB) better than Swap Partition.

CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG..
