and i found "ITP". Can you explain to me what is ITP? how i can get it? and how to use it?

here is a breif explanation of FTP;

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a network protocol used to transfer data from one computer to another through a network such as the Internet.

FTP is a file transfer protocol for exchanging and manipulating files over a TCP computer network. A FTP client may connect to a FTP server to manipulate files on that server.

so when you have FPT access to your phone you can access folders & files that are deep in the phone,
which is much easier & quicker than,
 you split the Flash file, to get to them to edit,

with FTP you copy files from your computer to another machine (like when you upload the files of your website to a server). In this case the "server" is your phone.

smartftp.com, cuteftp.com ,etc... You can even do it directly in windows - go to My Computer and type "ftp://..." in the address bar (where ... is the address where you want to connect to)

as your guiding, i can not connect to the local address. windows said "the server name or address can not be resolved".

how to make our phone become server for accessing it using FTP. please your help hehe,,,

yesterday i already flashed my phone using martinz firmware,,, until now it is good, but i want to put some skin and font to it.

2. After your phone is flashed - go to Connections and switch your phone to "Modem&Tools" connectivity mode.

3. You will need to install the latest Motorola USB drivers.

4. Now connect your ROKR to your computer with USB cable. Go to command prompt ("Start > Run > CMD" and press OK).

5. In the black command prompt window type: telnet 192.168.16.2

6. There will be a login prompt. Use username root and empty password (just Enter).

7. That's it - enjoy!

here, i have conclusion how to access ITP connection. This is useful for transfer file system (modding font, skin or other else). I hope you will correct if i am wrong. I use Windows xp professional to do this. This is based on your all guys explanation. Thank you so much:

1. my phone have been flashed with "martincz" firmware, you can find that firmware at https://motohell.com/index.php?topic=3403.0 . and how to flash it you can find at http://www.e2mod.com/e8/tutorials/20-how-to-flash-motorola-rokr-e8.html .
2. Install motorola usb driver. you can find by google help hehe,,, at http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=motorola+usb+driver&ei=UTF-8&fr=moz2 .
3. after phone is flashed,  switch your phone connection to "modem & tools".
4. afterward, connect your motorola phone by usb cable to PC.
5. open your windows explorer. right click your mouse and choose explorer. write to the address "http://ftp://192.168.16.2/". if PC need password, use username "root" and empty password.
6. Now you in,, you get it,, nice - enjoy!!!

On Linux, you need the usbnet module installed for the kernel.

Btw, it's FTP not ITP.
