I'm just new to modding and flashing. I have R564_G_12.00.40P stock  firmware installed on my rokr e2. I've read and studied the guideliness and the know hows in flashing. Before I start flashing, how do I backup the current firmware of my phone? Or can someone give me the R564_G_12.00.40P stock  firmware?

u can use getOS to backup your fw
http://www.e2mod.com/content/view/78/28/

it will backup  cg34, cg37, cg41, cg42 and cg43.

u can later recompile those *smg into *sbf.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately my phone can't recognize getOS. Maybe the current firmware of my phone doesn't support .mpkg application. Is there any other way I could backup my phone's firmware?

For backup AP cg you can use telnet or mpkg with commands
Code:
cp [device] [output_file]
cramfs (34, 37, 41,42,43): /dev/roflash*
jffs2 (35,36): /dev/mtdblock*
kernel (33): /dev/mtd7
bootscreen(39): /dev/mtd11
bootloader(30): /dev/animation
For backup your BP firmware you can use profile for FB3:

Code:
[FB3 Profile]
ID=Rokr E2
UseLdr=0
RamDld=E2.ldr
Addr=03FC8000
Jump=03FE7FF7

[Code Groups]
CG1=10080000-102E4547
CG2=10390000-103FFFFF
CG3=10040000-10066E27
CG4=10020000-1003FFFF
CG5=1000F000-1000F297
CG6=10010000-1001FFFF
CG7=10350000-1035FFFF
CG8=10000000-1000FFFF
CG18=10330000-103307FF
with BP loader RDL1 from any firmware.
