First of all you must know java programming language and i think you could use jdk (java developement kit) and netbeans mobility (addon for netbeans - java programming software) to create one... but i tell you.. it's quite hard.

I once tried to do one and i canceled the project after a couple of days because all i could do was to insert some images and text but i didn't realised a powerfull connection between the "pages" or some dinamic thing...

Anyway if you do a java app please share with us... who knows maybe you will create the next generation of mp3player.. Wink

Good luck!

If you really are going to do an mp3 player make it skinable, good looking, good functionality and fast if you can.

Take it as an opinion in what means for me a good mp3 player... Maybe for others it means nothing...i don't know but before you start the project you could make a poll or a topic in which each and every mp3 player user (and i think there are many) could say what makes a good mp3 player so through that you will have also some feedback.

Just trying to help  Smiley

Wrote a small program to play mp3 on my e398 today !  (only play control was supported)  Cool
I also wrote a program to parse the file system !  Cool

I m planning to first release an alpha version which will probably have all the basic controls like Play, Pause, Stop, Next, Previous, Volume up/down and
most importantly it will be a midlet.

The interface will be very simple. And in the later stages, will try to make it a corelet and implement skinning, id3 tags, album art image support etc etc ...

Really excited to do this now Smiley
