Hi All, I'm new this community... I want to rebuild e2's kernel after applying some kernel patches and make the flash file to flash it on the phone...I got the kernel source code from https://opensource.motorola.com/sf/projects/rokre2 for rokr e2. I don't have any idea about which compiler should i use to build the kernel and what are tools to create the .shx/.sbf files...Please help me...

For make a shx file you need to add some bytes FF at the start of the file, I think. And for make the sbf file you need to use the sbftool here: http://www.e2mod.com/content/view/93/27/

PLEASE CONTENT OF THIS FILE HAVE ALL THE INFO, HOW TO MAKE BUILD YOUR OWN KERNEL. LOOK INSIDE THIS FILE:

E2 kernel placed in CG33 of firmware. You can use SBFcodec to make the flash file. In SBF codec: open any MonsterPack file --> click on CG33 --> click Replace --> choose the modified kernel --> save in new sbf file. PS: you can delete other CG's if you want reflash the kernel only.

@ abi_nkl    What patches you apply to the kernel? Can you share your mod kernel here?

I just wanted to boot my E2 with the kernel 2.6.x provided by OpenEZX... Anyway there is no keyboard & sound support yet for E2 with 2.6.x kernel... (http://wiki.openezx.org/Project_Status)... Sad
