Hello,

Anybody know how to open dat files created by IM software especially skype? it contain chat history etc. i tried notepad&wordpad but strange symbol appeared. hope i can find the right software to open it.  Wink

Plz help....

well they are definetly binary files so regular text editor won't work. Every software has it's own specific parsers so there is no unified software for "opening" dat files.

However if you open the file in HEX editor (XVI32 for example) you may be able to see some text (but many gibberish symbols around it too)... Try Smiley

i've tried XV132 and some hex editor. the output still the same. so many strange symbol Grin
