Some days ago some of us installed the new Titanium Extreme FW, resulting in our phone being locked by some "subsidy code" most of us will have to buy. I had my question as of why this could have happened, and the author of the firmware, Mati77, kindly answered:

The problem was only originated with "code group 2". This CG is in BP part and it modified the operative bands...

...For future developers, please don't use CG2 from blocked networks.

I'm a complete newbie but I want to learn so why not to start by knowing what the heck is a "code group 2" and what does it serve for. I'll let the BP  for later, but if you know what it is...

Do you guys have any explanations?

I'll start a search by my part now...

Regards.

It`s complicated... That's a Tip for developers (MPs creators). The best you can do is waith that someone else test it  Grin .. Ask in topic if someone with an unlocked phone wave tested it...

 Sorry for my english  Embarrassed

 Regards!

LOL u don't need to be a dev to understand that.
Just unpack the FW's sbf using SBFCODEC (it's on e2mod.com), and REMOVE CG2.
Save the modified SBF, and flash it. Then you won't lock your phone.
If you already locked your phone, there's nothing to do... u need the code.

Thanks, I think thats the attitude we need if we want to keep learning.

This may seem silly, but I haven't found what "MP" exactly stands for. If anyone could tell me I'll be gratefull.

Also, what's a CG2 and what is it used for?

Thanks.
