Hi there. I have a very peculiar problem with my E398. Actually the problem exists from the beginning when I bought the phone, but the last months it's happening very often. So. It's network signal is dropping to red (like there's no operator online), and seconds later back to full reception. And that's quite annoying while making a call, because the call drops and I have to dial again and again... and this all reflects to my bill. The phone is 3 years old and more, the battery lasts for 2 days, and I'm wondering whether a changing of the battery would fix the problem. This was happening with the original firmware and now with the starterXP.
Does anyone know a solution? Looking forward to your answers.

I have tried by changing the phone and it worked without any difficulties. I changed the MP early that morning and I'm having no problems since then, but I'm sure I would. Just last attempt before putt E398 on the shelf Sad

Probably there is something wrong with your hardware... Sad
StarterXP is quad-band enabled as much as I know, so its not that...

My e398 is 5 years old, it works flawlessly Wink

I just want to ask you what is that "battery save" option for? Cause I have now deactivated it and for now - no problems, but as far as I can remember I have enable that option in the previous MP.

Battery save (my knowledge) - Enables the light sensor so that when you are in bright place keypad light doesnt turn on Smiley

Anyway.. Go to Settings>Network Setup> there you can setup speed, band and some more stuff... Try play with that also...

Good luck!
