Title: [TURORIAL] HOW TO INSTALL SKINS USING SKIN MANAGER Post by: Jithin on September 16, 2007, 11:14:40 pm Eventhough skins manager is pretty easy to use,this guide is for those who are new to skinning their phone.
1)Download skinmanager from HERE (http://www.e398mod.com/content/view/55/28/) 2)Connect your phone and open skinmanager. Wait until all the skins are shown up in the skinmanger. (http://jithinsk.e398mod.com/installation/28639448sd7.jpg) 3)You may delete a skin if you need more free space. But NEVER delete the active skin (shown as "checked" in skinmanager. 4)Press "Install" button.You could see a window as shown below.It contains a lot of skin patches you can make. You may uncheck all the patches or check one or two according to your choice.Press OK. (http://jithinsk.e398mod.com/installation/82784057nd1.jpg) 5)Browse for the *.ski file you want to install (http://jithinsk.e398mod.com/installation/80220420cf7.jpg) 6)Wait until the operation is complete. (http://jithinsk.e398mod.com/installation/46037133sg8.jpg) 7)If the skin comes with custom mma_ucp,you can upload it by clicking the "menu files" tab and then uploading the mma_ucp. Title: plz help Post by: rahatamin on December 07, 2007, 07:09:02 am i m a new l7i user....i donno much about modding, etc. i installed all d p2k drivers n skiman....i installed a skin through skiman....when a click on install...a box comes up...with a list of checkboxes....can any1 tell tell me which ones to check n uncheck??....i applied d skin....although it gets applied....bt d menu gets distorted...n no text appears anywhere....i mean evry options is transparent...i donno if i hav explained it correctly....bt plz help !!!!

Why did if I want to install skins there are some dat files which can not be installed??? Example: if there are 10 dat files (dat1, dat2, dat3, ....), only 3 or 5 which can be installed.. I activated the new skin using skiman...then I closed the skiman and it asked for me to reboot my phone and so I did. The problem is, my phone won't reboot. It keeps on flashing. I can't even charge it...it just keeps on flashing. I really love my E398 and I'm so desperate for advices...but pls don't tell me to retiring it :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

It will keep on rebooting if you install them.. Now what you can do is : Flash your phone with a monster pack.. However,You'll lose all your current data in the phone (contacts,messages etc)

So, when you uploaded a v360 one and restarted the phone - it didn't turn on? Just flashing white screen? Surely that's the way it happened... Now, restoring with Flash&Backup or flashing a new MP with MFF or RSD must bring back to life..!
