AFAIK, ROKR E2 doesn't support SDHC (SD High Capacity).

Thank you, ahmed.
I'm on a long weekend, but I can still connect to the internet with my ZN5.
Now downloading ilove3d's new kernel.
And will try this patch with Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC (currently used with ZN5) as soon as possible.

Tested it.
When I tried to browse my SD, it suggest me to format.
But I don't want to format it.
So I check the SD capacity, my E2 shows that it is 3.5GB.
This is the same value as ZN5 reported. (ZN5 reports 3.5GB but can use all 8GB)

ahmed, if you want to format your card, try format it with your E2, or try format it with your PC as FAT16.

yes the phone feels 4GB card but when dealing with the card i must format it by phone(the only tool which can format as fat16) so after that the SD becomes only 2GB felt!
i tried yesterday every letter u mentioned..but fat16 is not supported by xp only fat 32 which also not supported by E2! so i turned to linux ubunto no tool to format as fat 16..the question ...is there any external program can format the 4GB micro SD as fat 16? (i tried both PartitionMagic 8.0 and Paragon Partition Manager but they did not feel the SD only my 80G Hard Disk).
btw i do not have windows 98 or milinum CD to format the SD as fat 16.. very promising card Wink

Try format or create partition with disk management.

Check this link http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=101874.
I'll search for more information.

For FAT32/ext3 support, check this link http://moto.it168.com/thread-465194-4-10.html. (It's in Chinese - I can't read it)
Or try to make 2 partitions as this http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19974.

I'm waiting for someone to test these.
I think that if we combine both patches (SDHC and FAT32 support), may be we can use up to 32GB SDHC.
This will turns our E2 into a monster. Cheesy

it seems a hardware property of fat16(which works on E2) that can not be more than 2GB in size i tried diskmgmt.msc order..after format with 64k culster size it becomes 2gb..so i heard before E2 can use both fat 16 and EXt3 is there any utility can divide the Micro SD into two partitions and format them as Fat16 and EXt3 ?

You can format your SDHC with FAT16 with 128kb clusters, to make your partition up to 4GB, you can use Paragon Partition Manager, for example.

PS: Check this out: http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=460901, there is the link to the new modified kernel, that supports SHDC of any capacity (using an ex3 partition, for SDHC bigger than 4GB), in that forum, they have tested it with an 8gb SDHC card only, if any of you have a bigger card, you can try it to see what happens, and post it here Smiley
