Help with telnet plz!!!! (E2 only)

When i type "telnet 192.168.16.2" onthe ipconfing it says "could not open connection to the host, on port 23" it souds stupid but i don't know how to change port or fix it. Help plz. I already have the InetD and heard the trumpet before i connected my e2 via usbnet! HELPP!!!!! :'(

youre still using stock mp?
change your mp thats the easiest solution

erm hy nihilus.. sorry coz im very busy lately.. ok if u want to connect to usb lan.. u must change ur usb mode first.. see the Connection>Usb Mode>Usb Lan

ok after that connect ur phone to pc then Run Inet D

on ur Pc click start>run then type Cmd

u can see new Cmd terminal will prompt..

ok type telnet 192.168.16.2

after that they need login.. just type root and enter

now u can access ur phone, just go to Run then type \\192.168.16.2

done!

  Emm guys thank you for trying to help me. However When i run InetD on my E2, the trumpet sounds and afterwards a funny error clip sounds. oes that have anything to do? And i don't know what changing my mp means, nor how to do it: im a n00b for this. When i try to connect, it says that i can't connect on port 23, How may i change ports? or fix this?

flash means change ur stock MP(Monsterpack) to Custom Monsterpack.. before u flash the phone, u must learn how to flash ur phone.. just see around here.. u will not to be noob..

ur data ex: phonebook,msg and any data on ur phone will be erase.. including ur interface too will change..

arghhhhhhhhhhh is so great and a lot of stuff to do when i flash my phone

my warranty will void(sometimes Motorola service centre dont care bout software Warranty)

How to flash Motorola ROKR E2

We figured out that the description in the firmware section "Flash using RSD lite" is not enough for newbies, so we decieded to write a unified tutorial for flashing Motorola ROKR E2. Here is what you need to do:

1. First review the flash file. When you unzip the archive usually you will find only two files - one is .shx and one is .sbf file. First you will flash the .shx and then you will flash the .sbf.
2. Turn off your phone. Press the Voice Key + Red Key. You will get the primary bootloader screen. Now start hitting  the voice key multiple times until the bootscreen text changes and you will see the secondary bootloader.
3. Connect your phone, open RSD Lite and flash your phone with the .shx file (in some firmwares there is only one .sbf file - choose it here)
4. After the flash is complete then you can turn your phone into the primary bootloader again and then flash it using RSD lite. Here you may need to follow additional instructions from the firmware post itself (like replacing some .smg files during the flash). However that is optional

1 more thing. I want rockbox. so what. Ijust open it from my phone?. place it on my sd card? WOW! i got telnet access, now what! i type root it says i entered the montvista system now what? How may i do stuff to it?
