Restoring E398

Hello everybody.

I am new to this forum and also new to modding my phone. However I seemed to have made a mistake while installing a skin using Skin Manager. Now all I get is a flashing white screen when I try to restart my phone. I know many have posted this type of question/problem on this forum before but I am a complete newbie. I don't know anything about reformatting or flashing a cellphone. I have downloaded some of the software recommended by some of the posters (RSD Lite, p2Kman) but I still can't flash my phone. Is there a particular file that I need? I read that RSD is good for flashing but I don't know what to do when I open the interface.

I am sorry if this is not the correct to post this or if someone else has posted this somewhere on the forum. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Okay what is your current firmware right now? R372 or R373?? i'm assumed you have R372 firmware

To flash your phone you'll need
1. Driver to connect phone to PC
2. FB 2.62 To make backup and flash the phone
3. 42R_For_All and any R373 E398 MP

I have a few questions: is the FB 2.62 a software? Aslo, what is the 42R_For_All and R373 E398 MP?

OK, I was able to flash my phone, though I don't think I had done it 100% correct. Nevertheless, I am able to restart my phone and the functions are working fine. I have a few problems though: the words "Contacts" and "Messages" appear in Russian. This has no doubt been caused due to some error during the flashing. I'd just like to know why this is happening.

Once again, a huge thank you to MotoManiacs for his assistance. I feel so relieved I can use my phone again!

The 42R_For_All MP is used just to convert your e398 to ROKR.. It has lots of bugs and misses many features.. Now you can directly flash any of the latest R373 MPs made for e398.. Check out our Monster pack section..
