Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a Rokr E2, I can to do telnet following the instruccions explained on www.e2mod.com, but when I try to search files by explorer typing \\192.168.16.2 I can't to see the files, for this reason I know that I have not samba installed on my rokr E2, how to install it?

Bro, come on! Go to www.e2mod.com and there u will find proper instructions for install it.

Or, Just download/install latest Firmware from MotoRu, configure to Usb Net, Plug the cable and voila.

What f/w are u using now? Usually modded  f/w can use samba.
But if you managed to do samba let me remind you that don't edit files on phone memory just copy it to your SD then u can edit it. Cos many error might occur.

The inetd on e2mod doesnt include samba.Try the attached one.

to use samba you must:
-have modded fw
-have samba driver
-have inetd in your phone, and set the connection to "USBNet" mode,

all you need is in e2mod.com

ok ok, point taken, now, how do I do to use vi?? I want to modify smb.conf but vi is not installed, how I do install it?

Telnet and type "busybox vi"
BTW:stock firmware don't have busybox pre-installed

but...even though I take the ownership and permissions for the folder samba, I can't modify the smb.conf, what must I do to modify this file?

You cant edit it.cramfs is read-only file system.You can only edit files in /ezxlocal and /ezx_user.
