Title: Modding help - and is it necessary?
Post by: Binnsy on August 10, 2007, 04:17:51 am
First of all, is it really necessary to go through all this conversion stuff to load apps and skins onto the E398? Is there an easier, less complicated way?

I guess it's not really all that complicated, but it just seems like a risky thing to go through just to load some games and stuff. If there's a way, what is it?

And does anyone know where I can get the patch that will let me load MFF?

Cheers
Binnsy

if ur phone already convert to ROKR E1, u just copy ur *.jar(aplication or games) to ur memory card \mobile\kjava then u just run application then follow the step..

if ur phone still stock firmware, u must convert to ROKR E1(just look E398mod.com for conversion)
Application u must have
-Flashbackup 2.62(easy to use for backup and flash)
-Motorola PST 6.7 or higher(search google or Ares)
-RSDLite

Firmware or Monsterpack
-42_for_all firmware(basic firmware for R373 or ROKR E1)
-ROKR firmware/Monsterpack(just look e398mod.com for Monsterpack)

p/s :
-must backup ur stock firmware(using Flashbackup)
-Full battery charging b4 flash(u can make u phone dead/no charging when ur stuck on bootloader)
-flash ur phone using 42_for_all first
-then flash ur fav Monsterpack
-Done

This feature u will see on ur new E398(ROKR E1)
-Airplane Mode
-iTunes
-Video Recording(MP4,3gp)

Enjoy dude
[correct me if im wrong]

I ended up just using MotoMidMan to install jars, but some had application errors. Is this cos my phone isn't modded? Or is it just cos the apps are silly?
