Folks over at AndroidCentral have done a great benchmarking test showing the differences between the new Droid X, Evo 4G, and the Nexus One.

The Droid X and Evo 4G both run Android 2.1 while the Nexus One is running the newest Android 2.2 Froyo, which provides a big boost in the phone’s performance.

The Droid X and Evo 4G were about the same where Droid X edges out Evo 4G by a bit while Nexus One clearly wins the benchmarking test with whopping performance boosts, all coming from the Android 2.2 Froyo.

You can expect for both Droid X and Evo 4G to be upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo later this year. Once that happens, there’s should a little difference in performance between the 3 phones as all of them use a 1Ghz processor.
