The Droid X has a pretty good HDMI capabilities to output to your HDTV, all in 720P video. Here, we look at a demo of the Droid X being displayed via 720P to an HDTV.

For this to work, you need to get a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable (or type D HDMI), you can get it here on Amazon for half the retail price.

I’ve been playing with it and one of the best features about that is you can load up your favorite DivX movies on your Droid X, then stream it to any HDTV where ever you go, kinda cool when you think about it.

There’s also DLNA on the Droid X which allows you to stream wirelessly. If your HDTV supports it, then you are in luck. Unfortunately for me, although I have a bunch of smartphones, I refuse to upgrade my old DLP HDTV, which works fine, really.
