Title: Editing DRM using DRMPORT
Post by: Jithin on July 13, 2007, 09:34:44 pm
Original guide by kirklestat from M3..

This is the fastest way to DRM Editing. Tested on my L7.

Backup first before modding.

You will need:

1. DRM Map.

2. Drmport_v0.40.Tnx to lucrece for developing this great tool.
Download it from HERE (http://www.e398mod.com/content/view/447/28/)

3. FB3.

in this guide, i will be editing the sending message and message received icons named Royal Blue made by Zra.

1. Extract all the files from drmport.zip file to a New Folder. copy all the files you need to the drmport directory. you will see that i will be using the stock R4513 0101 DRM and the sending message and message received icons.

2. Open up drmport_v033b. on the Settings check the Edit only mode then select the DRM in your drmport directory.

3. Once decompiled, the drmport program will exit and you will now see the binary1 and binary2 folder.

4. Open binary1/drmpack/icons folder and overwrite the 12.gif for messaged received icon and 16.gif for sending message icon. note that when overwriting, it should be the same file name and same size with the decompiled gif.

before

after

5. Open the drmport again and click Save As. Save it to the drmport directory with a different name.

now you have your own modified DRM. flash it using FB3.

Thanks a lot to Kirklesat for this great guide..

@ritza_ll
well 1st of all, i'm new to this flash things...
well last night i flashed my e398 (flashed with Black Beta By POER - E1-Rokr) with symbian vista DRM by JoeyNET from MotoHell.
And what did i get?! a same look with nothing on the top of the screen except the GPRS sign icon... (http://www.smileycons.com/img/emotions/124.gif)
do i have to do the same with Enslaved...?!
Or is it something else...?!

@all who master in flashing e398
when i flash DRM should i be in BL state or normal state (phone turn on normally)?!
sorry for the language... (http://www.smileycons.com/img/emotions/121.gif)

Its ok to flash from normal or BL mode when you're using Flash&Backup :)

Not seeing those icons probably means Poer used the patch to resize/move icons in the status bar :S

@NiKSY
Is that mean i can't never use DRM modification with this MP i'm using?! :(
too bad if that so... hiks...

You can make a patch to match with your own DRM. You can use patchmaker to make it, you can change the order too but make sure you make with right size..
search in patch thread.
