For me, 48R is the fastest  :D

46R Same 42R but Battery : Lose 42R
48R Sound : Very Good, Speed : Fast, Java : Fast, Battery : Stable (Little Patch)
49R Sound : Good, Speed : Good, Java : Good, Battery : Stable(So much patch)
6FR Sound : Very Good, Speed : Fast, Java : Rather, Battery : Bad
70R and 79r Sound : Bad, Speed : Very Fast, Java : Fast, Battery : Very Fast  :P
Wow, now if need Stable, No like Mod, 48R and 42R is Best
If like Mod, need some speed 49R is Best (so much patch)
If like speed, play game, usually use application, don't like music, don't worry battery 70R and 79R is Best (70R Stable than more 79R)

I fell in black angel v3. 79R have good sound. :)
I never fell java fast in our moto.
How fast it will?
I think it's HW limitation.

anyway the java is slow... i has been tried but always is the same. :P :P

Tested in original firmware, but i will try change DSP of 79R and fell about music
Java fast when you play games you will have fell fast or no
Hardware limited but need firmware control hardware man

the best is 34R.. its better than other 4xR fw.. with 34R,I get 3 days full battery life. (battery was over 1 year old since purchased.)
I like the sound..not as 42r, I think 34r has bigger bass, than 42R that more treble that terrible the ear..
please try it.. be carefull, this 34r has lock to Cingular network..you should patch it first.. java is very fast score 156 in Java benchmark 2.0.. also the FW is very stable n surely very fast..
not as 42r, n 7xr, both of them are buggy and laggy. so not stable..

some issues tell we also reupgrade ur BL to 0A.02,by flashing 34r first..
directly flash 42r with OA.02 BL will lead to ERROR:0x500.. dont do this! its make ur IC flash fail n damaged in unerasable flash memory.. testpointing can erase this eror,but flashing new boot into it will never success..

3 days battery life?? i really want to try it....

34R is the ancient oldest firmware that i know.. i get it in esnips.com.. try search in there. search in the keyword search box on the top of the site.. write as the 34R.. you should find it and just download it then flash..

oh my god, i will search and try this, r373 34R, i think new firmware is fix bugs and good more old firmware, but now i will try old firmware again ^_^, thanks sir
