Hey guys here ill give u a short tutorial about ho to run windows 3.1 on ming using windows pc

first were not changing linux, just usin dos emulator to run,
pros
you get to use Office 4.0
cons
its a little slow so its beter to get a swap partition and/or overclok

now download DOSbox for PC

then download DOSbox for A1200/E6

Get windows 3.1

now install DOSbox on pc and ming

now unzip or unrar windows3.1 and office4.0 on your hard disk on a folder named as u like
example if your folders name is "tuto" you`ll get
C:\tuto\windos3.1
and
C:\tuto\office4.0

now run DOSbox on pc

Z:\>
now type
Z:\>mount c c:\tuto [enter]
you will get this messege
Drive C is mounted as local directory c:\tuto

now type
Z:\C: [enter]
then
C:\cd windows3.1 [enter]

setup [enter]

run setup

then
cd\ [enter]
cd windows [enter]
win [enter]

once you are on windows3.1 interface go to file manager search office4.0 open folder then open DISK1 folder and press on SETUP.EXE
aggain run setup then exit

now

go to your ming copy "tuto" folder to memcard root (\mmc\mmca\tuto)

now run DOSbox on you ming and tipe

mount c \mmc\mmca1\tuto [enter]
c: [enter]
cd windows [enter]
win [enter]

and voila you got  windows3.1 running on ming ENJOY

im not shure if it work, cause u need touchscreen but who im i to tell u dont do it :D

We can use the joystick to control the mouse on E2....

u4ia_eclipse, does it work on E2?

i was saying, cause dosbox needs toucscreen i think :P i never tested on e2, it woul be cool if it does

okay, installed DosBox for A1200/E6 on my ROKR E2 and it installed successfully. Dosbox is working.

BUT!

The keymap is still not working like in the case of RockBox.
Mainly because our E2's our not touchscreen.
So from there i think we really need to learn how to port A1200/E6 programs so the keymap will work on our E2 keypads..

Once we get the keymapping to work then it'll be all fully functional..

Yes, in theory, the keypad can be used as a mouse. But we need people to develop that and port programs to E2.. But im sorry because i dont have that knowledge.. Hope someone will be able to help. =)

me too it would be great to use windows on e2 :)

BELIEVE IT OR NOT..

I got Windows 3.1 to work on my ROKR E2.. haha! BUT, there's no input from keypad or joystick. Keymap must be fixed.

but the softwares is copyrighted and to get the file we must buy/ pay for it...
