For those who already used MAXX 3 I will describe the basic innovations:

very nice fw i tried it many new applications and fast one but about the language package how to install?i followed the steps of installing lang and the phone worked well but the linux folder containing programs didn't work eg vr replace,light control,apmd changer.. after installing aio lang pack! what much i like is the video resolution becomes large not medium  is there any way to install lang without this problem? thanks

I think it was a corrupted user menu tree.I've flashed Maxx IV and it was fine as other FW.

i already reflash this fw again, and this time, the setting, office and multimedia menus did appear, but the games menu is empty, ugh, i think i need to reflash it again

I think this Maxx fw really comes with no game.I also have an empty game inside the games folder.

yes it did came with adventure island, but if you open the  MenuOrganizer, it got several app under the games folder, but it didn't appear

For anyone who got the Games folder empty problem... Create any folder on your Games folder using the main menu (don't do it under Adv Menu Organizer as it won't help), this will reset the Games folder to contains only one folder... Then, for any games that is gone, use Adv Menu Organizer to add it back... ;)

that's because a flashing error, just reflash your phone, but don't unplug the usb until you got PASS, even though the phone already turned on, keep it like that, choose the qplayer, and install it, after that just turned on your phone WITHOUT UNPLUG THE USB, just push the red end call button until the phone started. after a moment you'll see the PASS on RSD, now you can unplug the phone

adventure island will become if you go to MenuOrganization and go to games and option and add then goto phone apps then apps list and adven... then options yes!!

After about 3 hours using MAXX 4, I revert back to MAXX 3.
Many bugs compared to MAXX 3, such as:
- Backlight problem
- Cannot synchronize with MPT at all, no matter kalid is enable or not
- When connect to PC in USB disk mode, you cannot use SD on phone

Anyway, this fw is good, I like qplayer and a new way to change font.

it is not backlight problem, it is funlight i believe.... ;D Well, quite annoying as it is blinking every hour....but AFAIK it can be disabled... :)

How to turn off the Orange menu? I've set it off by clicking the 'Orange'. It was written " Off Rebooting" but it's still there.

Orange menu seems slowing down the phone..It could be a nice feature but I don't like it.So,is there any way?

by the way, the battery life is quite good, about 1-2 days standby with normal use, but i think there's other fw with better battery life, i forgot which one, since i change fw almost every week. :P

My main.db is not initialized...

The main.db of one 49P (or other) isn't compatible with the 4AP? The phone show "Contact List is uptadated, please wait (is + - this..) and when i chose the messeages menu the message is Initializing DB (+ -)...

How can I restore my contacts and my messages?

it seems you lose the .log file in your sysDatabase folder...

if you make a backup, you must backup your main.db with the .log files, you cannot separated them or you get that corrupted main.db

probably, by deleting ezx_flexbit.cfg that placed somewhere in ezxlocal... sorry, can't tell the exact location... :) i'll check it later...

this firmware is one of its kind.......it freeze when sms, it delete all the java and mpkg in my SD and it now help me delete all my files in the SD....... (actually, it left me a skin and system folder.....)
this firmware is AMAZING!!! i recommend it to everyone.......

I think freezing when writing messages is a common thing on every Kaleidoiscope firmware.In previous Maxx series,I also got this problem.Now,I think my E2 seems over.It sometimes hanged coz it couldn't read my memory card.I have changed my memory card twice,flashed my E2 maybe 5 times and the problem still persisted.Maybe it's a hardware problem.Could be an error on my ic memory.Now,I'm back with my old E680.The 4 year old phone still serves good as what it should.

well, i think my memory card still works fine.... my DS still can read the file on it......its the first time this happened, but we'll see since i flashed to Supermars........and this is not the only problem..... the camera freeze too......some apps won't run and the worst, after giving up tring to run some apps, i leave the phone there.....and after like two hours+, i take the phone and the phone heat up really badly.......my battery drop to empty from two bars.........and no, i didn't OC my phone...... but well, flash at your own risk, i got myself to blame......

Well, if you phone is freezed...probably some important process that control the system is stopped. That can cause it heated as the phone has no control to the power it consumed.....or something like that.... :) I'm not good in this part.... so correct me if any of you know better.....

i  think it was the frequency...when you choose 1 it will blink faster when choose 5 it will blink slower..correct me if i am wrong  ;)..i think the best is 3...

Hi guys! I need your help with this MP.
I flashed this FW last night, and so far it's working nice, except for one thing: I can't sync phonebook with MPT. I disabled kaleidoscope but still can't sync.

And one other thing, at first boot It asked me about which player I would like to install: Qplayer or Zmplayer. While I was thinking to decide which to install, It showed finished dialog, I forgot what it said (something like "All finished" or "All process done"). Maybe I took too long to think, and I missed that step so I don't have Qplayer nor Zmplayer. Now how to install one of them?

First, the FW didn't support MPT, and the second, you just need to find the mpkg, try to look it in the www.e2mod.com, in the phone software section, i prefer Qplayer, but that's just a matter of preference, extract the archive to mpkg and just put it in your SD, after that, from your phone, browse the mpkg file and click it, it will prompt you to install it, don't forget to change the permission to root via the phoneware manager.

AFAIK orange menu is a feature to show some shortcut menu to calendar, tasks, messages, phonebook, etc on main screen. It's sometimes referred as Screen3 and HSA.
I tried this on MAXX 4 but it's not working. If you really want to try this, maybe you should try MAXX 3. It has working orange menu.

I've tried all Maxx I,II,III but allway got same error: some day after flash, I can't use sms feature. When I access and write new sms after some word the phone respond nothing and the way to escape is restart phone. Anybody got it? :(

First time I flash Maxx III i got the same problem too. Try this trick, it worked for me: When you are going to type a message, hit Options->Text Entry->Set Text prediction, then turn off (uncheck) "Learn my words" and "Offer completion" options. That should fix your problem.

By the way, when I flash Maxx IV and reflash Maxx III, i don't have that problem. Weird. Maybe it's because the langpack?
