Post by: vishh_83 on October 29, 2008, 12:50:47 am
Hi,

I am new to this E398 phone. I used to have a V3i with me. I recently gave that to my bro and am using his E398 (S/w Ver: R373_G_0E.30.49R, B/L: 07.D0).. All i want to do i disable to the Engineering menu. How do i go about.. Is there any seem edit that should be done.. If yes can anyone guide me...

Thanks,

If you want to make engineering disappear from phone menu, you can edit your mma_ucp ;)
But if you want to disable engineering menu, you can edit your seem 0032_0001. See the seem map for details :D

Seem 0032_0001 offset 44 bit 4, 5, 6, 7 set OFF.

So all bits 4, 5, 6, 7 should be set to OFF.. Right.. (Just confirming)  :P

Cheers

It didn't work, i did all that offset changes but the engineering menu was not disabled, My dad still receives messages about my phone being stolen

Do you mean your father receives text messages from your GSM operator that inform about stolen phone?
I think engineering menu has nothing to do with those messages.

lol guys... Dont you know what that is :D lol I almost forgot about that :D

It should be the SMS thief alarm, works on VirtualCorelet and most of iTunes modded versions... Errr.. I think there should be file...errr.. iTunes.dat somewhere on your TF?

*EDIT* Check a/itunes.dat - if you find it delete it ;) Or you can edit it and put your phone number in so if it actually gets stolen you get reported about it :)
