Micro Sd with 2g on e398? is it possible?
I both one , buts de cellphone just found 990.000kb...not 1.990.000kbs...im to sad...

Nope,There is little chance that 2gig will work on E398..

But,even if its possible,it will be damn slow..I'm pretty much satisfied with my 512MB trans :)

I'm runnin mine with 1Gb with no problems whatsoever. would love to try 2Gb if someone is willing to sponsor :D Will feedback here if I do get a hold of one

i use 1gb n it works fine..dunno with 2gb..but i think it should work although rather slow

The specs show up to 512MB, when the phone works with 1GB, which is still a bonus :)

As for the 2G card - so sad it don't work. However I can think of something, but it needs firmware modding from people like Elektro or other - if you split the card in two partitions then it may be possible.

Here is my idea:
1. When the card is splitted in two partitions - the phone will read only the first one
2. We may be able to make it to look at the second partition (already done on ROKR E2, so why not) :)

That's just an idea :)

now i'm using the newest MP 46R from redkingmaster and my 1gb works perfect!
my friend said that the specs show up only 512gb because at that time there weren't micro sd 1gb,there was only until 512 mb.

Not all 1GB cards work properly. I saw 1GB trashflash which do not work on E398 and later worked perfectly with adapter on E2.

i agreed with u exp.... my friend bought 1gb for his e398 n it doesnt work...
but when i put it to my cellphone (e398) it work.. i dont know what make the diffrences

As far as I remember the Singapore phones read 1GB... Somebody to confirm please :)

It works on mine too,bro (made in China :P).. I have tested it from my friend,but bit slower..

it works well on mine... in fact my 1gig is just as fast as my 256... I have no idea why...

i think Hijacked versions work with the 1Gb...

Do you mean.. 2Gb TransFlash work on "Made In China" E398? hmmm mine to "Made In China" but.. didn't work on V-Gen 2Gb TransFlash.. don't know another brand... but now i'm satify with 1GB SanDisk micro SD...

2Gb works fine(but much more slower than 1GB) at my moto i use MP based on elektro's 0.4a4

hmm are you sure that it is counting all of the MB's of the card properly and not "cutting" it somewhere? Can you post a pic of disk usage?

im just using 512mb microSD Kingston.. if i upgrade to 1GB.. could my phone read device song faster than before? or just same??

Does it work with other firmwares?

I tryied it at A603NK (http://www.e398mod.com/content/view/510/30/)(do not know what is it based on) v.2 and MotoMusiQ v2 46R (http://www.e398mod.com/content/view/503/30/)(based on elektro's fw) and it worked.

You can see this as well in Hardware modding galery (http://www.e398mod.com/content/view/467/25/)(e398mod.com) on pisture 1. and 2. but i do not know if those are real pictures it looks real.

This is simply a fantastic piece of news. The E398 is still changing with the times. It truly is a marvelous piece of equipment. Would like to take the core decission makers for lunch when they're here in Malaysia :) Please bear in mind, I said core. I can't afford a few hundred people :D Now, on to the SPEED!!!!

Hi! But have you ever format the sd card with the e398? Because i thinq that the problem  just happen whem u try to format the card inside de celphone...

format in phone its too slow.. if i want to format my micro sd, i trasfer to PC then format.. less than a minute my MicroSD were formatted.

i thiink the battery is not gonna take it
2 gb is so much i can put a film on my phone with that ;p

ok "error398", format the micro Sd on the pc is faster then do it using the phone...buts if u just format it on the pc when u try to acces the card on the phone (unpluged of the pc) it´ll ask you to format the card again...and when you do it the phone will see only 1g..not 2g...

eog and djebrut ...witch mp are u using?...did u format the card using the cel phone?
(Im with a 2gig sd card and the motomusic v2 mp....buts when the cel ask to format may 2gig sd...it´ll only see 1 gig....)

I am using MP based on elektro's 0.4a4
I formated card using my comp(win XP pro) using USB card reader(not via mobile)

Buts, after format the card on the computer, using the sd card reader...when u put the card on the phone, it didn´t ask you to format again using the phone?

No, when I was turning on the mobile bootcreean was shown a little longer(I think the mobile was creating folders on card), and than it didn't ask for formating card

yeahh, u`re right EOG. when we formatted memory card From PC. all system file from motorola phone were lost.. so its should created again when u insert memory card at the phone.. correct me if im wrong.

but we can avoid creating useless folder in memory card by patching...

i think is so cheap at ur place.. coz at malaysia i've buy 2GB sd costly from RM$80 ++, so 80 divide by 4 or 5. u can get 16€uros or 14€uros only per unit of 2GB SD.. i just guess, but im not sure for real price.

in my country 1gb is about Rp. 130.000 to Rp. 300.000 divide Rp. 9200 (1 USD = Rp, 9200) = it's about US$ 14  to US$ 32

it has the patch integrated

dont flash Rockmantic MP untill it safe to flash.,.

now i'm sorry for that post but you shouldn't flash the RockMantic (don't try any RockMantic version) unless you know what you are doing. My phone died after flashing this and i'm not the only one. There are many others. So be carreful with that. better try the patch

I tried my friend's 1 gig card yesterday.. when i tried to format it in the phone, it just restarts ! th card was kingston 1g .. is this a known problem?

Yes it re-starts all the time.
I tried using SanDisk 1g as well !
I even tried 512MB Kingston, but with the same result!
The phnoe kinda hangs ! Then i press some key, the phone re-starts !!!!

1. Format the Transflash wit a Motorola Phone that Sees 2GB Transflash (like W490)
2. Mount the FlashCard in e398
3. DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD WITH e398 .. the Phone will see it UNFORMATED!!!!!
4. Set USB Settings to Memory Card
5. Upload / Download or Whatever to TransFlash
6. Enjoy ...
7. P.S. Use MediaViewer / PhoneManager to navigate in TransFlash Memory

TransFlashUsed = Kingston Micro 2GB

What a good news...I'll try it.I've ever used 1 gb MicroSD card on E398.And it works fine.It was only a lil bit slow when I used P2K Tools refreshing it.But 2 gb is just amazing...

This is what I got....As U could see that my E398 could only read 1 gb as total space and the free size is 2 gb but the used space is impossibly 3 gb..In Phone status menu,it is unformatted but I still can access my memory with no problem.No lag I found so far.I used Motorola L72 to format the TF and I'm using GF Rockmantic MP.FYI,my TF is a Sandisk brand.

are there no other work around but to format TF with a moto phone that reads 2gb?can't it be done with my pc or is there a software i can use to format my 2gb TF so that my e398 will recognize the 2gb memory?

My unmodded R372_G_0E.20.95R E398 works fine with 2GB microSD card. It reads 1936320 kb as total memory. The same card in E398 with Motohell MP says unformatted. I did not try to format it since it was my cousins card. I did not test if it could access sounds, vids, pics on Motohell phone.
