if you open the rom <10m,such as 4m and 8m ,it is not necessary to use virtual memory,but if you open th file such as 16m and 32m,you must enable the virtual memory(32m or more),otherwise it may keep you waiting forever... without sound, loading may take <10s for rom <10m ,20s for rom of 16m,and 30s+ for 32m. if you enable the sound ,the time may increase ,so just keep waiting until the game start. you can not play all the rom,but most of them. overclock may help you play the game more smoothly,but some game just run will with the sound when is not overclocking,such as pokemon series!!! the game maybe slow when you just hold you phone for a while without playing ,and the solution is pressing the red key to return to the menu of emulator and choose "run",the speed will be as fast as you run it at first. But even though, I think speed is like E2SnesX, and sometimes even a bit faster (like Zelda Minish Cap, game is fast!). Games that are kind of slow: Final Fantasy Tactics Final Fantasy V Final Fantasy VI Super Mario Advance 2 - Super Mario World Games that DID NOT work when i tested them: Need for Speed Underground (blank screen only) Mario Tennis Power Tour (looping) Grand Theft Auto Advance (hang at start of game) Disabled sound at first run. Then i'll enable it after the game loads. I observed that doing this sometimes lessens the lag on games while playing. Using 64mb swap partition. OC @ 312_416_624. Using Auto in frame skip settings. - Lunar Legend: playable, bad sound output, better if silent, not so smooth framerate. - DemiKids: Light version: Playable, good sound output, good framerate - Duel Masters: Kajidou Showdown:Playable, great sound output, great framerate - Final Fantasy IV: Playable, great music (well, you can hear the theme song "Crystal" clearly, yes i mean it), great framerate - Legend of Zelda: The Minish Camp: longer loading time then the other game i tried so far(almost 30 seconds), playable, bad sound output, great frame rate (without sound, will drop greatly with sound) I tried this 5 games without overclocking my E2, about 100mb swap partition, and using MAXX E2 firmware, i think it won't be vary much on other firmwares, so far, i think, Nokia user who pays for vampent should cry out loud for this one Title: Re: best regards to great lasly,E2GameBoyAX has been released!!! Just found out, i think if you use the original screen size, not full screen, you can get a yet better frame rate (i tried on Final Fantasy IV, the sound skipping reduced to almost nothing). - Pokemon Emerald : failed to run, blank white screen - Tactic Ogre : The Knight of Lodis: Sound bug exist, slow framerate, but still playable (just pretend you're playing E2SnesX) - Fire Emblem : The Sacred Stone : Playable, bad sound output, not-too-good framerate - Advance War 2: Black Hole Rising : Playable, good sound output, some small speed impact if sound is enabled. - Super Robot Taisen : Original Generation 2 : Playable, no sound skipping, but weird sound output, fast framerate, no speed impact at all. Pokemon Emerald worked fine on my phone. @all I just observed that if we first disable sound before loading the game and then enable it after the game loads, it will lessen the lag while still be able to have sounds. I tried it on Zelda Minish Cap and it works. But it may not work on other games that are more memory demanding. The procedure: Open E2GameBoyAX with sound disabled, select a rom, and then run it. Then after the game loads, play it for a couple of seconds and then go back to the configuration menu and then enable sound. Try it if it also works for you. Btw, I changed my key configurations manually by editing /mmc/mmca1/E2muX/gba/gba.cfg Here are the buttons and their equivalent code so you'll have an easier time editing as well: joystick, call, end and voice button codes are not included Volume Up = 0 Volume Down = 1 Music Back = 2 Music Play = 3 Music Forward = 4 Left Softkey = 11 Right Softkey = 12 C key = 13 Keypad 0 = 14 Keypad 1 = 15 Keypad 2 = 16 Keypad 3 = 17 Keypad 4 = 18 Keypad 5 = 19 Keypad 6 = 20 Keypad 7 = 21 Keypad 8 = 22 Keypad 9 = 23 * key = 24 # key = 25 Im very happy with the emulator. The higher frame skip = lower frame rate... It means u can play faster but little laggy... Lower frame skip = higher frame rate that means little slower but very smooth... In Pokemon Fire Red, theres a bug that i cant save "in-game". An error "The 1M sub-circuit board is not installed." appears inside Pokemon as i run the game. So I just use the Save State feature of E2GameBoyAX. Besides that Pokemon Fire Red also emulates well. Audio and OC Enabled. Wow! Using frameskip 0 (or 1), rotation 0 and normal view, there is no lag (or just few) while playing GT Advance 3, Crazy Taxi, Final Fantasy IV, Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Emerald... Good to know that it worked! Btw, attached is the button config that i use. It works really well! :) This configuration will help prevent faster wear and tear of the joystick. Coz i'm already experiencing the over-sensitive Up direction caused by too much use of the joystick. :( My phone will keep pressing Up even though i only touch it once. pokemon fireRed, or for the same, ANY game that requires a 128K flas save won't save game,. teested on pokemon and supermario advance 4: super mario bros 3 sometimes the emu's saves wont load, simply show the gba bios loader and hangs up.... lack of options, it should be able to redefine keys....
