Title: [E2] How to edit files in /usr/ ? Post by: BlinK_ on April 11, 2008, 11:54:08 am Topic says it all pretty much.
Is this only available by flashing? Title: Re: [E2] How to edit files in /usr/ ? Post by: keaglez on April 11, 2008, 03:01:51 pm Yes, the other simplier way is using mount --bind command... Open the autorun.txt and you can see how it works...

Title: Re: [E2] How to edit files in /usr/ ? Post by: aku46 on May 12, 2008, 01:46:59 am how about to delete files in /usr/ ? i want to delete default ringtone&image of a FW and poweroff/poweron animation
Title: Re: [E2] How to edit files in /usr/ ? Post by: BlinK_ on May 12, 2008, 02:27:31 am /usr/ are read-only. So you cant write or modify any files there. Only way to edit files in /usr/ is by flashing.
Why do you want to delete them? Maybe creating empty file in mmc and binding it to file in /usr/ may work? Title: Re: [E2] How to edit files in /usr/ ? Post by: aku46 on May 12, 2008, 03:28:55 am i'll try that. i just hate to see those unused ringtone, image, animation in my phone memory. i have 4 on&off animation in /usr/. so its 8. wasting space....
Title: Re: [E2] How to edit files in /usr/ ? Post by: BlinK_ on May 12, 2008, 04:37:45 am But you cant use that space. It is, as I said, read-only. This is why every MP stores skins, preloaded ringtones and wallpapers in /usr/.
When you store any file on your phone, it is stored in /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/. So if you want to make more free space on your phone, you should clean /ezxlocal/ directory. Title: Re: [E2] How to edit files in /usr/ ? Post by: keaglez on May 12, 2008, 09:01:35 am Yup, deleting anything in usr wont give u more space... U should clean ezxlocal and ezx_user... They are placed in different device, roflash* (cramfs/squashfs) and mtdblock* (jffs)... :)
