Hmmm,,, I'm so confused to choose da best phone between 2 phones above... gimmi a suggestion and the reasons why I should choose it..... And how about the hardware and software?

Hardware is identical and software can be changed.

If you want to choose between those two... Are you buying a new or an used one? I dont know if there are any new e398s ;)

So I would go for ROKR. Especially if you are buying an used one, because its less spent... And again, if you are buying an used one, get one that is NOT modded. Speakers are better on an unmodded one ;)

I'll buy the used one.., BTW, wht d'you meant of speaker is better than before modded? is it about d'speaker of E1 or E398? and so, wht about the conclusion? thnx b4.., :-)

i would go for E1... (but i would put the black casing from E398 cus its cool :) )... E1's led diod is made for video recording... so when its dark and u turn the flash on... it will not melt itself while video recording. while e398's LED is all hot and stuff and after minut it comes blue and then starts to melt... sounds funny but true... its not made to be used like that, its made to be used just for short period of time when picturing. and the speaker... cus allmost all moded phones has sound at higher volume, so the speaker's are not good as new... you now for yourself on your stereo or cd player, when u keep it at max volume for like 7days it will be damaged...

Hmmm.., it sounds great. But I've heard that the screen of E1 is better than E398. Is it right? And which one is having louder sound? BTW, is it true that E1 has more solid body than E398? So that E1 is stronger than e398 in shocking or when falls down? And also the manners of modding from e398, can I apply it same with my E1 too?

i recommend u to downgrade Bootloader if you choose E1

OK, so Im gonna correct you :) I have a good ole e398 that serves me great, but speakers are trashed! I just tap my finger on it and you hear them buzz...Sound quality is greatly reduced, volume is lower also... Why you ask? Because I modded it and always used the loudest GTs+vibe sync...I didnt mind the cracking of the speakers... 

So now I took new speakers from my mom`s ROKR (yea with her camera lol) and well...its SOOO much better! I wish I didnt trash my speakers at the first place... But almost every MP has very loud GT and every modded e398 has been used a lot sooo...

About the "strenght" of the casing... I dunno... I trashed, dropped, smashed, cracked, etc... My old e398... NOTHING! I smashed it on to my friends wall and only thing that was damaged was his wall... And E1 also... Motorolas are strong sons of b****... So... And for the screen... I dunno.. I never could notice the difrence... I switched it from E1 to E398 couple of times... I did not noticed the diffrence... And the sound... The sound quality and loudnes you pick that by yourself... With MP and gaintable.. Anyway... What ever phone u buy... It will not be a mistake!  ,'-) Just do not buy some nokia or something...

yeah throw all your phones (nokia, se & motorola e1/e398).. & see which will be the strong one!.. i bet it would be this e398!.. lol! cause i've throw my phone alot of times & it even fall from the vehicle (glad it was not been smashed by the following car)..

just give it a try!.. & inform us the result!.. k?... lol!

I once threw my e398 down the stairs in some building (on purpose) just to show off to my friend and his crappy W910i.. And LOL nothing happened to my phone afcourse... he made from top to bottom in like 1.5 seconds :D Jumped like crazy...

God I love having a 30$ phone... If his phone falls he would kill himself because he paid like 250$ for it... He`s stupid xD

Original casings have some kind of thing steel bars on the side, to improve its strenght :)

it's crazy phone with crazy owner too... Yupz, I'll try to buy Rokr E1 first, coz my friend had bought E398. T_T .... I ty to get different phone. BTW, thanks a lot for your informations... Keep loving moto.

my personal judgment about sound:
E398 = more bass
E1ROKR = more surround
tested with the same GTPT, same volume, and same song on e398 and e1rokr with 2 days buy from shop :D

i have one question, can i change display from rokr e1 to my e398 ?
because i have two e398, one's display is original, and other i think is changed,
because it looks perfect from all view sides, it's got a very good contrast, and the black color of the screen is much darker,

so i'm thinking, maybe this display is from rokr e1 ?   :D
is it possible ?

well, if thats true, than my moto's display is from rokr e1  :)
one moto i bought year ago, and another, as a broken one, for parts, very cheap,
but when i wrote a new MP, it got awake, and now its working, but it has some errors,
and one of them is about the network conection.

But all other things are all right, so i just took its display, and put it on my e398 , which works perfect,
and now it looks realy great, with it i don't see any diference between e1 and e398 except a 1more button  :D

i think yes you can, i've changed my LCD, cause when i bought it, the seller only know one type of LCD, for ROKR e1 and e398 (same type).

I have 2 e398s and 1 ROKR here :)  :P

I Have 2 E398@RokrE1 too... The quality of the LCD are different, The older looks clearer than the newer one, but Im sure that all of 'em are original because these phones were not dissasembled yet when I bought it...

i hav 1 e398 n 1 rokrE1.
sometimes i feel the display of e398 more realistic than the rokr E1 have even 62k less then 128k.
i mean, when i see a same video at the same time on both of them. i feel the display of rokr E1 "too much". e398 is better on my taste.

Wehehehe,,, very Cool Family, Bro.. U 'r one of the member of Motorola Family.. But in Indonesia Motorola isn't famous enough.., In Indonesia, many people use Nok** or S***Eric****. They don't know Motorola is better... Especially for Rokr types.

Mate, u can buy separated keypad board (not only the keypad rubber, i mean the fullset including the circuit board) for rokr that hav iTunes keypad
Than put into ur e398 so u don't need downgrade if u just wanna e1 with iTunes button with 07.D0.
And it's cheaper than buy e1. ±$6 :D

So one of my friends had it and he wanted to sell it..and I bought it from him, used... Back in the summer of 2006th :)

May be If I give both of them microSD which more than 512 Mb, (E.g. 1Gb or 2Gb) can they accept or read it? I mean that they don't have any error or related problem coz I put microSD more than 512 Mb?? If there are any problem, could U tell me what are they?

Double post, dont hit the post botton twice. ;)

1GB TF will work fine on E398 or E1, u need a lil hard work to make 2GB TF work on them.

My e398 handles 1gb nice (my t-mobile e398) , but when I put it to my bro`s e398 it cant start, reboots with white screen all the time... ;)

We stil dont know whats the problem... Some said that it was chinese that dont work with 1gb, but my phone is chinese... Maybe its newer though?

My phone came with MTV HiJacked software, r372 95R
and my brother was normal  firmware r372 53R <pretty older than 95R

BTW, e398 upgrade with iTunes where in the motorola mp3player, why I can't make my playlist to play songs without iTunes? I mean that I make playlist in Motorola mp3 player, not in iTunes.

Yes, thats right. Only on r372 you can make playlists for motorola player. But you can patch "pseudo playlist" for r373
