sucks to be a noob.  i have a stock E2 and i dont know where to go right now.  whats the best firmware and things i can do to my rokr.  please help thank you

finally found the tutorial or flashing e2.  still any helpful noob advice would be nice.

k i still dont get a thing.  all i know how to do is access bootloader by pressing voice and power button.  i downloaded RSD Lite and Titanium.  i loaded the shx file onto RSD but i cant get my phone to show up on the program.  is there anything i have to do first?

where can i get the driver?  if youre talking about an installation cd my phone never came with one.

can someone give me a step by step instruction of the things i need to do to be able to change my fw.  been researching for hours dont got a clue.

open RSD lite,switch your phone to the 'red' screen,connect it to PC,locate the firmware file and press start and thats it......

my phone is on the red screen and rsd lite is open.  i opened shx file and all the info shows but when i press start nothing happens.  the left hand side of rsd looks like its supposed to show the phones info but its blank.

the firmware file is suppose to be in .sbf format.....

titanium comes with two files.  i treied the shx and sbf.  no response.

have you installed the driver?

where can i get the driver.  my phone ddint come with a installation cd.  when i plug my phone in windows asks to install driver but it cant locate it b/c i dont have the install cd if there even is one.

sigh. googled e2 driver and found it.

so problem solved? ;D

for now.  im still installing all the parts of the driver.

so after the driver is installed can i go straight to titanium extreme?  any presteps before flashing?

make sure you charge your battery is full before you start flashlng....

are you going to flash Titanium Extreme?be careful since some have get their phone locked after flashed to this firmware.....you might want to try other firmware such as Only You v3 or v4.....

yeah i read about the phone locking up.  but didnt seomone post a solution to the locking up?

it's safe for me.....but i would suggest that you try other firmware and maybe wait for an update of the firmware.....

lol you were the lucky one taht had it stop at 95%.  what other fw is 2nd to titanium extr.

Go to motodev.com and get the official noobproof drivers there. A bit me common sense won't be bad. There're LOTS of guides everywhere, u just have to read them.

i flashed to titanium regular but i flashed the .sbf before the .shx.  so i decided to flash to another fw and start over.  i know im supposed to flash the .shx file on the second bootload but my computer wont detect the phone on 2nd bootload.

change usb port.. if plug in to the front panel.. just switch and plug in to the back panel pc.

i think i bricked my phone.  i had it on the Jay Chou stock firmware successfully but i failed when i was flashing to Titanium.

I fell asleep during the .sbf flashing and went to school with a bad phone.  I could only go to the splash screen or bootloader.

i got home and tried to flash titanium again.  .shx on 2nd bootloader success.  had to charge phone to go back to bootloader 1.  flashed .sbf almost successfully.  it said please manually reboot but phone wouldnt turn on.  i went to charge my phone and the it stays on the splash screen.  i cannot turn on the phone with the power button.  only turns on when i plug in charger but it stays at splash screen.  also cannnot access bootloader!!

charge your phone for two hour or so, then try to access bootloader again.
when it say please manually turn on the phone, disconnect cable, release and replace battery, go to bootloader again and reconnect cable, then it will show flashing PASS.

it said manually reboot so i took out the battery but the phone wouldnt turn on.  when i charged it, the phone turned on but stayed on the splash power on screen.

try other firmware?

what i mean is my phone seems pretty much bricked.  all it can do it turn on to the splash screen when i plug in the charger or usb cable.  it just stays there.  without the charger or usb cable plugged in i cant do anything.

i cant turn on teh phone wiht the power button or access bootloader.

nope.  no matter how much i charge it, the only thing i can do with it is go to the splash screen.

does this mean its bricked? because doesnt bricked mean totally useless?

if you charging and it go to the stuck splash screen doesn't mean it's not charging.
if you can go to splash screen mean you can go to bootloader.
charge and reflash!

no bootloader doesnt work.  the only thing my phone can do is go to the splash screen.  thats all.  when i plug it into usb port, computer sees it but doesnt know what it is. no driver to install.

Hmm... What solidsnake tried to said is charge your phone, let it be charged for two hours more, even in splash screen...just leave it, it will be charged... Then after that, remove the battery to turn it off and plug it again... Try to enter bootloader now, if it succeed, flash it again... :)

try to flash ilove3d ultimate,
1 Flash the .SHX
and then the .SBF
this can work your phone

nope.  charged over night.  came home phone still on splash screen.  can not access bootloader.  i think its officially bricked.

use another battery, and flash first with .SHX

why can't u access bootloader? tried to force bootloader mode using modem mode in rsd lite?

my phone is non working.  i can only go to splash screen.  cannot manually turn on.  must plug in usb or charger and it only stays at the power up picture.

i cant even switch to modem mode because my phone doesnt work.

remove the battery an put in again.  press bottom red with voice key, once again voice key,  when you stay in second bootloader (second screen red) conect to pc, run rsd lite, and flash it with ilove3d ultimate .shx file.

it's strange you keep saying "it stuck in the splash screen".
do you know how to access bootloader?
there is no connection between accessing bootloader and splash screen (turning the phone on)
to access bootloader the phone must be completely off, then press voice button on the side of the phone, then while still pressing voice button tap red button several time (10-20times!) until it access bootloader.
remember just tapping, don't press red button to long otherwise you turning on phone.

so access the bootloader, NOT turn on the phone (splash screen)

he is completely noob.. enter the bootloader like u flash ur firmware b4.. how u flash ur phone? i know u can understand what we saying.. it's so easy.. search the topic how to flash ROKR E2.. there is include how to go to bootloader mode.. XD read carefully, it may help u.. believe us.. never surrender and no mercy

i know how to access bootloader. (voice+red) thats how i flashed my phone the previous 2 times.  but now i cant.  i cant turn on the phone manually.  only by charging it but it only stays on the splash screen (the power on picture).  to turn off the phone i have to unplug it.  when i unplug it the phone just blacks out.

so basically its bricked because bootloader doesnt work.

here are the things i did to my phone.

1. flashed titanium regular .sbf file to 2nd bootloader.  forgot to flash .shx file  titanium still works fine without .shx
2. flashed to http://www.e2mod.com/content/view/250/26/  (so i can reflash titanium fresh on a new firmware)
3. jay chou firmware successful
4. flashed to onlyyou4 (successful)
5. flashed titanium .shx to bootloader1 (successful)
6. flashed titanium .sbf.  fell asleep
7. woke up next day. dad unplugged phone.  firmware not working.  phone can turn on fully but firmware not complete. cant access menu or call.
8.  went home reflash titanium .shx (successful)
9. flash titanium .sbf (manually reboot)  phone wont turn on
10.  this is where i am now.  bootloader wont work. 

If you plug out the battery and plug it back, then hold the voice key and red key, what do you see in your phone? If its nothing, you might need doing test point...

nope.  charged my phone for 1 day.  it just stays on splash screen.  when i unplug the phone it turns off. try bootloader doesnt work. take out battery and put it back in doesnt work.  plug usb into phone.  voice button lights up.  phone turns on to splash screen and turns off in 10 minutes.  same thing.

Omg... He barely can flash his phone and you are asking him to do test point on his e2...
Test point is not for newbies. You should go to some technical service.
Some days ago my e2 microphone got broken. Nobody heard me and no sound were recorded. I'm electronics engineer, but I don't have the parts either the experience to risk my phone. So I sent my phone to a technical service center, and it was fixed perfectly.
Sometimes things like these happens. If you don't have the tools or the experience to fix your e2, don't try anything and send it to someone experienced.

yup. i agree with taurnil.. dont take a risk if u not sure what to do..

i'am a noob too, but it's seems popcorn1 having problem with battery.
why dont you try to charge you battery with desktop charging which can charge the battery it's self w/o phone.

I had exactly the same problem couple years ago when I had flashed my L6... it wont charge the battery when I plug in the charges / cable data, while it's should be works.

after 1 full day finally my battery fully charge with desktop charges

then I can continue, successfully flashed my L6.

L6 and E2 having the same system of charging and data port, right... just try it and good luck

but its have different bootloader and different os..

how can i do desktop charging.  does that mean i have to find another phone with the same battery type and charge it?  i might just buy a new battery and see if the problem is fixed.

right now the only thing i can do is go to poweron picture.

is your lock switch working? maybe its broken and cant start cause its blocked?

if i plug in the charger cable while holdin the voice button the screen will flash white.  flahs flash flahs flash flash

when i let go of the voice button, it goes to the splash picture.  NOTE: its not the splash screen because in the screen you can see the animation and hear the sound.  now its only a STILL picture. (the blue moto startup pic)
