Title: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: Taurnil on December 23, 2007, 11:01:27 am (http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/703/snap23122007150048wk7.jpg)
Hey guys, check this out! (http://www.4shared.com/file/32850792/56da5542/Doom_4_RockBox_packed_By_Taurnil.html) These are the files needed to play DOOM with the included Rockbox Plugin. Once u download the file, u install it with the file manager ('clicking it'), wait a couple minutes (it's a big file)... Later, run rockbox, choose the DOOM SHAREWARE game, enable sound options, disable the blendigs and graphical effects (improve performace) and PLAY the GAME. It works smoothly on my brand new rokr E2, with sound It's like a geek wet dream. Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: keaglez on December 23, 2007, 12:47:51 pm Nice one Taurnil... Congratulation for your new E2... :)

I have one question, do rockbox have enough button for Doom? Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: Taurnil on December 23, 2007, 10:58:20 pm sadly, it lacks of a backward button... but u rotate weapons, move, shoot and open doors (open and forward with the same key)...
anyways, actual Rockbox's keymapping sucks. It must be corrected to include the music keys :P Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: konspirasi on December 23, 2007, 11:22:33 pm LOL new e2 straight to rockbox+doom, congrats to your new toy taurnil :)

Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: keaglez on December 24, 2007, 01:03:50 am Well, i realised that only 5 keys are working, they are:
- left (joy up in 90 degrees) - right (joy down in 90 degrees) - key on (joy enter) - key mode (right softkey) - key record (left softkey) So we can set it to the function we want... ;) A lil hard to play with only 5 keys, but its really run like hell...! E2 is awesome... ;D Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: vanhieumai on December 24, 2007, 01:57:46 am thank taurnil :)

PLAY/PAUSE to abort :/ Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: keaglez on December 25, 2007, 11:23:38 pm Download rockdoom.wad in www.rockbox.org and place inside /archos/.rockbox/doom...
Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: CyberPunk on December 25, 2007, 11:54:06 pm Download rockdoom.wad in www.rockbox.org and place inside /archos/.rockbox/doom... I had the file already there. I replaced it with the downloaded one, anyway... and I also copied another .wad (doomf.wad) that came in the same .zip file that I downloaded from the rockbox page... but it still doesn't work :S Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: keaglez on December 26, 2007, 12:19:55 am Doomf.wad didnt work, use the shareware doom... :)
Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: CyberPunk on December 26, 2007, 12:01:43 pm Doomf.wad didnt work, use the shareware doom... :) doomf.wad is there but I don't use it. As I saw in rockbox page, there's a main menu in which you choose which wad you want to play... but it doesn't even enter that menu; it just says "Missing base WAD" as I said previously. But the base wad IS THERE! >.< Title: Re: [INS] DOOM files for ROCKBOX plugin Post by: keaglez on December 26, 2007, 02:08:34 pm Make sure the rockdoom.wad placed correctly in /mmc/mmca1/rockbox/archos/.rockbox/doom/rockdoom.wad...
