Title: help bringing it back to life
Post by: no_nicotine on December 18, 2007, 03:24:45 am
hello to all here,,nice work!!been a while since i last modded my e2,but now its got necessary..last weekend my phone conked off,,its jus refusing to turn back on-No response from any of the keys when its switched off(not turning on,no lights nothing),,But when charging i get primary bootloader screen saying BP NOT READY(BTW using 3d46 p2 for a coupla months before i had this problem)

So tried reflashing it,,but when connected to USB only the voice key light is on,no display nothing.but after repeatedly banging on the power and voice key i get primary and secondary bootloader screens.now i turn on RSD (3.2) but it says the phone failed security checks.but the phone is visible in the list,as soon as i try flashing though the phone goes out off secondary bootloader mode back to no screen and only voice key visible..and it says flash failed,,its quite frustrating!it says the phone failed multi-surface interaction tests something....also it automatically shifts into and out of bootloader mode..

So basically cant reflash it,,Any tips on how to get it up an runnin?PLEASE Help!itd be much appreciated,,thanks!!

Try fully charge your batt first, use stand alone charger. Then try reflashing it

Try flashing another MP that has BP and AP part...

thanks for the replies, and yea iv tried both those already..left it on charge(plug-in charger) for a while, the phone gets very very heated up..tried reflashing with ilove3d 46p2 which has .shx and .sbf.
problem is i always only get as far as the first 'creating image' step, i get a failed flashing process message after that -saying device API error, phone failed to communicate with multi-surface interface.
(btw now it shifts into and out of bootloader by itself, i have no control whatsoever over it,so im really running out of options here-only consolation is that if its going into bootloader it means its not turned brick right?)
i know im a noob here but im really stumped here, please please,,ideas on how to fix it will be very much welcome and appreciated..thanks again!

yep, tried with all of them..no matter.cos soon as i start the flashing process the phone exits bootloader mode and thus flashing process failed!is there some way to externally just revert back to stock so that i can take it from there.i.e without having to flash it,maybe do something with the circuitry or something??i dono getting desperate here..

Maybe you need to reinstall the driver, then try flash again...

thanks..will try that and see if it works.,but the main problem is with the handset itself,,i only get display when i plug it in for charging and that also is very erratic at best,,i hope my e2's not lost forever  :(

ok tried re-installing drivers-No difference ecxept for when i first plugged the phone in and my e2(in a rare mood)decided to turn itself onto bootloader mode.the computer said it did not recognize the USB device as it had malfunctioned, and seconds later it said new device found, and then new device succesfully installed.
main problem here is that i cant seem to control getting my phone into bootloader mode.has anyone had this kinda problem before?
