is it possible to port e398 speaker to e2? wut the effect? i've read in a forum (dont remember which one) that say we can port e398 speaker to e2 but i need expert in motohell to guide me. Title: Re: E398 speaker in E2 Post by: Exploited on October 23, 2007, 10:45:15 pm Yes it is possible, but only one of the speakers can be moved, because there is no place for second (it's still better than the original anyway). Here is what to do:
1. Remove both the E398 and E2 speaker 2. The placeholder for speaker in the E2 case is smaller than the E398 speaker size. However you have lots of useless plastic around the placeholder - extend it by burning it with soldering-iron 3. Once the new speaker fits (and hopefully you DID NOT BURN SOME OTHER IMPORTANT CHIP TOGETHER WITH THE PLASTIC) - just connect it to the same connectors that was used for the E2 speaker 4. Put some glue carefully, so it will not shake when you are moving your phone 5. Close the case and enjoy more bass music P.S. So far I know only one person from Motofan that did that... good luck mate.. i dont want to take a risk.. so far, E2 are not available in malaysia now.. they are currently to stop release it.. and the part for E2 is not sell at outlet store.. ermm thats why i dont want to modd the hardware.. You can buy an E398 replacement speaker from gsm service shop (that's how the Russian guy got it). It's totally cheap. But one problem is e398 has a box for speaker but there is no way to make speaker box to e2 with that speaker.And i have to do equlaiser setting but i cant do it.So much bass in it and its doing bad thing to sound a little.my volumetable is 25,25,25, speaker is good and phone is shaking like e398 in music.One problem is cant change equlaiser. I'm using it in treble boost.My firmware is maxx3. Can anyone help out this? Just give gain to trebles and reduce bass. I have to notice: Changing speaker is hard.I worked on it about 2-3 hours.If you played with electronis you can do it.And you have to use soldering iron good.Use 25w sol. iron.
