Title: [E2] Creating a 64mb Swap File in Kaleidescope
Post by: u4ia_eclipse on October 15, 2007, 06:38:46 pm
Hi everyone.. Im currently using the Kaleidescope firmware for the E2. And from what i know of is that Kaleidescope cannot create swap files.

But i've tested that Kaleidescope can mount an already created swap file using swapon/swapoff. The mpkg that im using and i have tested to work is attached here. It is able to mount a 12mb swap file.

But im looking for a bigger swap file. Because of Kaleidescope's limitation, i tried creating a swap file from scratch just by making a random big-sized file and naming it as the swap file but it failed. So I guess the phone needs an authentic swap file to work.. So i would like to ask a favor if you someone could send me a 64mb swap file..

Please put a 64mb swap file in archive and upload it somewhere or send it so that i can be able to use it.

Correct me if im wrong about Kaleidescope not being able to create swap files.. Teach me if there's a way!
Thank you for your help!

yes, a swap partition will always be faster than a swap file :)

"swapon /dev/mmca2"
5,not 2
if you wan't to test,write "swapon -s"
