I'm afraid you will miss the telnet feature in this monster.Moto has forced some restrictions on z6.The phone won't boot if cg36 is modified.But it is still possible to install skins.

Oh no,I love telnet.That's why I use Linux phones.It's so sad to hear that.I'm still optimized that someday,someone will crack it...

Maybe yan0 can fix it in later releases.he is the absolute pioneer in the Chinese community.I have faith in him.;)

you cannot install it yet because it´s not up but when you need RSD lite this program you can find almost everywhere and then of course the flash file. flash and have fun :P

how did you know that if cg36 is being modified, the phone won't boot ?

For anyone who wants to try this MP,U can PM Vanhieumai for the link.But U must use it at your own risk.I haven't tested it yet.But I'll test it ASAP.My internet is so slow.

Someone tested the very first release,of which cg36 was modified and after flashing the phone couldnt boot.yan0 confirmed this and released this monster,leaving cg36 not modified.

BTW:cg36 is the rootfs

and the BL didn´t work,too?

I've flashed this MP into my phone.But I downloaded it at Vanhieumai 4shared.Telnet has been disabled.But I can open txt now.I'm waiting for the next Yan0 development. :D

Yeah,it's modded by Yan0.No telnet available yet coz if CG36 is modified,the phone couldn't boot.Nice bootscreen and I noticed that there's a lil bit speed decreasing.Jbenchmark score with my stock firmware is 433 but with this firmware I got 746.

bootloader still works,so you can still flash stock firmwares to "save" your phone.
yes,it's based on a chinese fw.

alright chinese is in all ways not my favorite. the menustyle is, well... too colorful :P
but i think thats a great success for modding a z6 so it only could get better :)

The skin is a mixture of the default black alkali skin and orange cmcc skin.Frankly,I dont like it either.But it's possible to install skins now.;)

How do you install skins though?? plz tell me...is it like sony where u actually install a thm file or like older motos where u hafta install via pc or pasting the files in the memory..??

It was not because of bugs that yan0 took it back.Please read posts above.

To install skins,create a folder named "mytheme" in your TF card.Copy the "skin"(if any) there and rename the .phm file came along with the skin to mytheme.phm.If everything is done correctly,you'll see the newly installed skin in the phone's theme menu.

but you can make one yourself using kview0.52.;)It can unpack/pack Z6 iconres.ezx.

That means I can convert E2 themes to Z6 themes,right? Can U give an example of Z6 theme? Thanx...

But my Z6 still can't run lin or mpkg.But it can open txt now with Opera n it's so fast in opening txt if I compare with my E2...

With this firmware I got no sound in startup or shutdown.Is there any way to put the sound?

Edit: Just put the wav file into mystuff/others.The name must be ui_power_up_mono.wav and ui_power_down_mono.wav.

This firmware rocks.I just found it today.U can modify startup and shutdown screen..U can modify startup and shutdown sound ,too...Shutdown sound is a thing that I miss on my E2.I'll try to explore more and report here...

There are no skins except for the stock ones.
I can give you the configuration(*.ini) files.Then you can change the font size,Opacity and other values yourself.

Have you got a Linux OS installed in your computer?If so you can mount the smg files as loopback files in Linux.

I don't know if there's any way to extract squashfs images in Windows.Maybe it's possible to do it under cygwin.

Not exactly.In z6 the OS is in squash images while in e2 it's cramfs.But they both can be mounted as loopback files.

Yes, i just know that... In E2, i can mount E2 smg by script, but it cant mount Z6's, because it used squashfs... :(

I didint notice but all i got was a mix of all the skins 4 sum reason i dnt understand why that would happen.

What happens is that a 4th skin appears with no name and then depending on the skin you chose b4 chosing that new one that will b the color u will mainly get and the some parts will appear as the cmcc color orange so its kind of cool.

edit i deleted the my theme folder and the phm file and i still get the skin 4 some reason."

i don´t understand everything but i think he has found a possible way to install skins on Z6 :)

ok i tested it and it works a bit but i don´t really get the skin the colors are not changing at all. but it works so i think we can build on that.

Reboot is needed if you apply a skin in e2.I dont know if it's the same case with z6.

My colors are changing but the colors are messing up.It's like rainbow colors..I put the phm on my favorites/others and change the skin path to mmc/mmca1/mytheme.I use Ubuntu theme from my E2..I think I should edit the iconres...

Edit the phm files with text editor... I think the same way as we did on E2...

I've uploaded a z6 skin from stock 44r.I edited phone_p.ini and common.ini so it's a little different from the stock skin.

As I stated before,I don't have z6 and can't test it.so there might be problems.

Installation:just extract everything to the "mytheme" folder in your TF card and apply it.

BTW:only works for this monster by yan0.

hey guys by switching a bunch of the things like the config.ini and a lot of stuff for the skin that zjole gave us i was able to get the icons to show up like on the skin but everything was disorted and in many colors but if u highlited the item it would show up just like on the e2 skin i suck at this stuff and never done it b4 so my bad if u guys had done this b4. ;)

kview 0.52 should have supported unpack/pack z6 iconres.ezx.Usage is slightly diffent from kview02/03.you need the original iconres.dat and iconres.ezx file to re-pack.
BTW:you mean you need a tutorial on how to edit the ini file?

switch to a built-in skin before removing the newly installed one.:)and you'll get many diffent effects by editing phone_p.ini and common.ini.:)

I've tried it many times but I have no idea how to pack iconres with Kview 0.52. I see that iconres.dat n save it as a new file but I think it's just the same as previous iconres..I see that why if I put E2 themes into Z6,the colors don't match.It's because colours that supported in Z6 has more bits than E2. I opened plush skin by using Kview 0.2 and the colours was shown just the same as what happened if I put E2 themes into Z6...

Just put everything in the archive to the "mytheme" folder in your TF card.Don't put them in any sub folders.

rite, i succeed at last haha all i got to do is rename mytheme to another name, and then disconnect usb, and reconnect again,
after that rename to mytheme folder again. all my icon has changed.

Hi guyz i am a new moto user here. i was using nokias before. Any way, i just loaded yan0's FW and applied USL (Ubuuntu) skin. I want to costumize the fonts, opacities etc. but its impossible to understand what code is which parameter. i wanna know if there is a guide/manual for these codes? i mean the codes in the ini files like common.ini.
