Title: The EDGE/battery life problem in the E2, Why is it like this??
Post by: XtorT69 on September 03, 2007, 03:58:36 am
I have EDGE enabled on my E2 because I use my phone as a modem to connect my pc to the net.
I need it, that is the bottom line. I don't understand how enabling EDGE can cause such a battery life issue.Isn't Edge only active if the phone connects to the net? My old SE W810 (Claimed by my wife)has EDGE and has no battery life issues. Is the quad band part of it to blame? Is it just bad software (the Kronosscottis.hs file) will there be better software in the future? If not them I must toss this phone and get something else. >:(

i can do something for you.The way you used was wrong.when you flash *.hs,you didn't open EDGE really.In russian forum and it168 in china this way had been proved is wrong.Now the right way to open EDGE is flashing *.TCS using RadioComm.i will give you a right TCS.

In fact,you can modify the EDGE's seem by yourself with RadioComm.If you can use RadioComm,you could follow this way.EDGE is controled by three SEEM i will tell you.
SEEM=02AE_0001
Offset=0000
Length=8
original
0000000000000000
moddet
0A05040201020000

SEEM=02AF_0001
Offset=0000
Length=2
original
0027
moddet
0075

SEEM=0032_0001
Offset= 0089
Length=1
original
03
moddet
07

this seem can open or close the GPRS's status.
SEEM=010A_0001
Offset=0000
Length=1
original (when you link,GPRS's status can be seen)
03
moddet(always display GPRS's status)
01

there are two appurtenances.one is open,another is close.

So I downloaded the *.TCS file for NO EDGE, but exactly how do I go about flashing the phone with that file via RadioComm?

Exactly what specifically do I have to do in order to shut off EDGE? Just upload that file? If so, how?

Thanks!

Open RadioComm -> Features -> Run Test Command Script
navigate to the .tcs script and Run
