Seems like every time I connect my phone to my computer, it recognizes the phone and then the phone instantly disconnects itself from my pc.

Is this because the lack of sim card?

Damn sim card wont be here for another week and I want to start using it as a music player

(the w810i could be used as such without sim) wondering if i'm screwed till i get the sim card??

no I can't use it to transfer files to the phone until I pop the sim card in??

yep,
i think i've talked to you before about this,
theres not much you can do when you don't have a sim card in your phone
