I think E2 sound quality better than E1 at first time i bought it.
But i'm disappointed with it, E2 bass is too much than trebble and mid range.
It also have sound skipping problem when playing music.
After flashing with many firmware, i feel Katze3 is best for sound.
Now i have modified gain_table and param_table for improving sound quality.
The bass is deep and powerfull but not too over, treble and mid range is balance.

<<EDITED 14/9/2008>>
Using P2KCommander:
1.Launch P2KCommander (v.4.9E or later) --> Options tab -->select Use P2K05 commands (override autodetect).
2.Relaunch P2kCommander, then connect E2 to PC (set phone connection to modem).
3.Copy original param_table and gain_table.bin from /a p2k phone system (left side) to PC folder (right side) for backup.
4.Delete param_table and gain_table.bin in /a phone folder, then copy modified files from PC folder to /a phone folder (P2KCommander can't auto replace, so you must delete it first).
5.Change param_table and gain_table.bin attribute to system (press F2).
6.Reboot your phone to take effect.

Using P2KTools VS:
1.Launch P2KTools VS (v3.0.8 BUILD 864) --> Setting --> P2K mode --> P2K Protocol version: P2K05.
2.Relaunch P2KTools VS, then connect E2 to PC (set phone connection to modem).
3.File Manager --> press Refresh --> delete param_table.bin and gain_table.bin --> copy modified param_table.bin and gain_table.bin --> choose atrributes param_table.bin and gain_table.bin to System --> press Change attributes.
4.Reboot your phone to take effect.

Are you ok??? E2 does not use this like E1...do you understand?
is not the same table.
E2 = ezx_volumetable.cfg
E1 = gain and param table

gain_table.bin & param_table.bin = we can change volume, treble, bass, and bass boost level.
ezx_volumetable.cfg = we can change volume level only (it's looks like equalizer setting, but its not.. LOL)
E2 have ezx_volumetable, gain_table and param_table.

I forgot, after replace the gain_table.bin & param_table.bin, restart the phone to take effect.
If you confused you can try it, but backup your original files at first.
Best to use with Katze3, but still give effect on other FW.  Smiley

System directories that i said is PC directories/hardisk drive, not E2 system.
In Radiocomm (File System Explorer), E2 called Motorola directories and PC called system directories.
Param and gaintable in (/a) folder in E2.
You can't find (/a) folder from your phone, it can be access from PC software like Radiocomm, P2KCommander v4.9E, etc.

I tried it in p2kcommander. I copied the edited gaintable and param_table in /a. Right now I cant compare yet the audio quality but I feel a little improvement.

I have tested and worked perfectly.
It was much better. I am using the Ultimate and the sound was 100% better. Recommend. Thank you.

Sorry for my bad English, I am Brazilian.
