Yes,Those are files having *.fpa extension which on patching will make some changes on the  phone's firmware so that a new feature or some changes in the existing features occur. There are lots of patches available now. for example, patching your phone with 320 kbps.fpa patch will allow you to play songs of bitrates upto 320 kbps Smiley
See the "New patches" thread for more details on how to patch and download patches..

some codes to be aplied to your phones, so your phone could have soe feature which it doesn't has in the past. For exp. patch to make your delivery report setting as default (you can make it stand on ON conditions or OFF conditions).
Try it, of course, make back up first and make sure you use right patch for your FW.

@prasasti : if you want to create a patch, you had to understand the machine language, it's mean which you have to learn asembly or VHDL first to understood the run of the programe inside your phone (the CGs). If you already understood bout asembly language, you can read the programe by using XVi32. We all learning , but still too hard to understand (but not for some mastas may be).

Yes, I know that. Both of them are not related at all.
We know that most patch we use has description in Russian, also elf and many others.
So if there is a tutor out there, it should be in Russian.
Its really hard.
