OK I'll describe the problem...

After I flashed to ROKR ultimate, and I overclock my E2 to 624mhz, the java applications always run SUPER fast!
After using ROKR ultimate for some time, about a few weeks, the overclocking seems to have no effect on the java applications at all!!! Embarrassed

My friend also tells me that he faced the same problem...

So is there a way to fix this without doing a re-flash?? Huh?

The cpu speed is running at 624 mhz and I have not changed the heap size...

Pro Golf 2007 have some problems with java heap size...

And Asphalt 3 3D has much simpler graphics compared to PGR...

I use 2mb of java heap size and games like PGR run fine, my MP is 46PNB.
With 1mb PGR runs very slow...

My AMPD is 312/416/520, no swap and ext3.

Sorry for my bad english...

i think it's just feel,not true
cause u use E2 with 624mhz for a long times,it mean u were acquainted with that speed,so u didn't recognize difference between 318mhz and 624mhz
example,at now u sample downclock 318mhz,and then u use it for 1 week,afterthat u overclock 624mhz again.u'll feel faster more_of course
(but cpu's speed before u downclock and cpu's speed when u overclock again are the same)
i'm not sure , i've just guess  Grin
sorry my bad Eng,so i couldn't describe my idea more clearly
if i said smething wrong, plss forgive me  Smiley

It may be a fragmentation of the SD card if you are installing/deleting apps a lot. It used to happen on my E398 before - suddenly reading the SD card much slower than usual. A quick defrag under windows fixed everything (it faced 60% file fragmentation, which is huge)

Oh, maybe.. I have done a lot of install and delete.. Uhmm.. I will defrag it soon..

Yes, asphalt3 3d is much simplier graphics. And my nfs carbon and fast & furious tokyo run too fast...

I always test the java speed using jbenchmark 3d, during the game test, I should get about 11fps @ 624mhz, however, I'm only getting 7fps now, which is the same as no overclocking....

And I defrag my SD monthly so this shouldn't be the problem...

Maybe you guys should run jbenchmark3d and tell me your fps during the low quality first-person-shooter test....

Can we increase the memory at the java system? In jbenchmark and spmark, we can see that E2 has total memory 1024kb and free about 500kb.. Compared to N*kia 6300 that has 2048kb total and free memory.. The spmark score of 6300 is about 2700 which is lowest than E2 (3000 @ 624mhz).. But i dont think 6300 has a great processor compared to E2 and also 6300 doesn't have a big ram like E2 (plus swap).. And also 6300 has a same specification in the java system, except the memory..  So, i think we can increase the java performance if we can increase the total and free memory in the java system.. Can someone do this? Is it possible?

The java heap can be increased to 'unlimited'
Read the tutorial on E2mod.com

No, it doesn't heap size i guess.. Coz i have changed to 1024kb, 2048kb, 4096kb or unlimited but the memory still not changed..! Still 1024kb with free about 500kb.. I think it similar like RAM.. Maybe..
